How To Secure Successful Results from Retainer Executive Search Process?

We counsel our clients to carefully consider certain fundamentals to assure gaining maximum benefit and utilization of executive search consultancy services by Amrop International

1. Before appointing a search firm, assure that the position the Client is seeking to fill is a leadership executive or professional role.  We define leadership roles to be those that at least have discernable influence over revenues, profitability, growth and development of the company or division for which the search is being considered.  This awareness would establish the importance and significance of the position and hence, the economic feasibility of attracting the best available talent for the role.  It would establish the level of investment the client would consider economically feasible for employing such talent and for retaining the services of a reliable and performing search firm as an effective means to securing successful placement.

2.
(a) Select a search firm that has bona fide credentials to undertake the mission. Reputable and recognized search firms are members of the Association of Executive Search Consultants, a non-profit organization with strict standards of performance and ethics.

(b) Conduct reference checks with previous and current clients of the search firm to gain endorsement of their work quality and commitment.

(c) Select a search firm that has thorough knowledge of the markets for which the search is being considered, the business culture of the region and the corporate culture of the client's organization.

(d) Establish that the firm has the necessary contact networks to perform research in the market(s), which are deemed to contain significant universe of the candidates sought.

3. Select a firm that the client is prepared to trust; a firm with verifiable professional integrity.  We counsel potential clients to give careful objective consideration of consultant's advice and counsel.

4. The best chances of success of a search project lie in the completeness of the information provided by the client about the search.  The Client is therefore strongly advised to give a thorough objective briefing of their requirements and corporate cultural values to the consultant at the beginning and maintaining close collaboration with the consultant to sustain effective cycle of action and feedback throughout the term of the search.
